A "sister" I know is in her late 80's. Her friend was 90 and on her deathbed. (Just a week ago.) She told the hospice worker to tell her friend not to go to sleep (die) yet, hold on! because Obama just cried "peace and security" at the UN. The 90 year old died the next day. Both of these women have been JW's for over 70 yrs. Does this speak to old age? Broken dreams? Desperation? or the intense progamming? What do you think? There seemed to be hardly any mourning espressed by this "good friend" for her pal of many years once she died. I think they were both true believers. What have you encountered in JW's as they get older?

Are first world countries to blame for the bulk of third world squalor?
by tootired2care inthroughout several past threads various posters have emphatically made the point that countries like great britian, united states, france etc.
basically countries where white people exist, are to blame for the poverty in many other third world nations.
some have even went so far as to suggest that the first world is to blame for all third world conditions.. i often see excuses such as these for why a country refuses to provide clean water, some food and basic sanitation for its people:.

If any country values ignorance and religious domination in any form its their own fault. Any that were KEPT that way by other countries for their own benefit get a pass of sorts. Eventually they have to stop killing Ebola health teams and stop kissing elephant dung as thier gods and get with the program.

Saw it long ago. Don't know why it was just released. It was bleak, surprising and action packed. I liked it for its creative take on the perpetual motion of a mindless system. Don't mess with sucess even if you find out its evil. No spoiler there trust me. I did like it. The org? Maybe, but any oppressive society fits.

Millions to friends of the Governing Body? Where do you get this BS? C'mon, lets try to be credible here. Give me proof of "Millions going to friends" or simply retract that crap. Not a fan of the GB but a fan of reasonable and accurate statements.

Street Work is hard! Take a look.
by Wasanelder Once inremember how we were told to engage people on the street, that standing and holding the magazines was not countable time?
those days are gone.
they have been reduced to the status of those guys on the street who hold huge "little ceaser" pizza signs and "homes for sale".

Remember how we were told to engage people on the street, that standing and holding the magazines was not countable time? Those days are gone. Now its more like this. They have been reduced to the status of those guys on the street who hold huge "little Ceaser" pizza signs and "Homes for sale". Pathetic.
Here they are, hard at work in the fields rich for harvesting!

The Maze Runner
by Hairtrigger inwatched "the maze runner" this day.
couldn't help thinkng this could be an allegorical story on the wbts.
not as engrossing as "hunger games or "divergent", though along the same theme.

Saw it too. Dylan O'brien is a great little actor but they squandered him by making him this creature that just stares dramatically. Was way over done. There were lots of great things in it and I liked it very much. Especially the walls that turned and closed off areas. It has lots of excitement. The ending was kind of predictable and ended so abruptly I was wondering about whether this wasn't an introduction to something bigger coming later.

Though it is especially heinous the way JW's treat the elderly, it is not uncommon for the elderly to be neglected. They just dont fill a need for most people. There are a few who enjoy helping others and can see through the stresses of being with those who are declining in years. Life rolls on and they are doing what the elderly did when they were younger, living. I take care of my dad (in his late 80's with chronic pain) and its not easy while dealing with my own health issues. In the end, witness or not, it is our family that we should be able to count on. Hope you can visit more often.
